An eagle-eyed reader noticed that some character tags (including Wanda Maximoff) were tags missing from last January's analysis of biggest fandoms, characters, and ships. (Most of the missing tags were not missing from the graphs, but from further down in the longer lists I provided -- including Wanda.) Here I share data about the missing character (and ship!) tags, along with some methodology notes about how this happened.

The final decade of the second millenium A.D. constitutes an apocryphal dead zone within the temporal archive of humanity. While adjacent eras enjoy robust representation across multiple Foundation-approved media and material vectors, the 1990s exist only as fragments: Corrupted, orphaned, and stripped of the connective tissue that should render a culture legible to posterity. The Storm did not merely reverse 1999, it annihilated its very context. What remains are color TVs without manuals, signals without protocols, a civilization reduced to its detritus. The Nineties Cultural Research Unit (NCRU) is therefore constituted as a part-time non-profit response to this epistemic crisis. May the peace be with us.

As a young girl, during the Wutain War, Kagome Higurashi met a strange young man whom she mistook as the elder son of a family friend. He was a Soldier for the enemy, yet she did her best to help him escape until an accident in the mountains that protected her village of Wutai separated them. Something in her wanted to find this man again, so she began the long road of training to become an Actress at the Leviathan School of Acting under Elder Kisaragi and Elder Toga, who she knew to be more than what he seemed, just like his children. Now she is in Midgar, breaking slowly into the acting scene and finding it is a cutthroat world that one has to struggle with. And her past keeps crashing into her. Her only saving grace is that her Cousin, on her father’s side, Tseng, works there as security. But she is strong and will persevere.
