The Night Shift

by StepfordSnarker

The gun’s metal is cold and damp against Will’s palm. He grips it tighter, and his eyes scan woodland brush for his brother’s face. It can’t be far now—could be around any corner. The surrounding winterscape sits still and silent, like that petrified forest in Arizona that they’d passed through while hunting a poltergeist—one that had been haunting the area irregularly ever since the 1860s. Back then, it had been taking showgirls left and right. By last month, it had clearly started to prefer couch-surfing stage musicians. The petrified forest had been useful because, in its all-consuming silence, the stray plink of a guitar string in its case was like a beacon of light. But this place… Will doesn’t like this silence.

Sunshine in a Dark Town

by Amrosia_Fics

With murder cases on the rise recently, Sora somehow gets mixed up in them and gets in trouble with the law. Will he be able to prove his innocence in time, or will Twilight Town be run by criminals? ✧✦✧Thunder rumbled in the distance and the pitter-patter of rain began to hit the window pane. Riku nodded his understanding and leaned a bit closer, “So who are the suspects?” Xemnas opened a manila folder and grabbed a sheet of paper to hand to Riku. “The two suspects are twins: Vanitas and Sora. Now, Vanitas has a past dealing with crime, but we had him in for questioning just yesterday, and he seemed to have a clean alibi. His new… guardians all claimed to have been with him on the other side of town, and their stories all matched. Sora, on the other hand, seemed to have kept a low profile as of late. When Vexen’s team searched his residency, it was completely empty, and his neighbors claimed they haven’t seen him in quite some time. It’s very… concerning. Xigbar found him following the duo off the train in Central Station. It’s safe to say that perhaps Sora lives in, or near, Sunset Terrace. Take him down, by whatever means necessary.”

Gelrinn isn't committed to much. Not to one home, not to one version of the story of their life, not to being perceived as anything that is set in stone. Wyll wants their names to be written through the ages, and sees their romance as one for the bards to sing of for years to come... but it's easy to have noble ideas for yourself when you're not the one singing them.Wyll and gender-fluid Halfing!Main Character, switching perspectives. Obviously this may all change as the game grows! No real plan, just moments.(Gelrinn uses fluid pronouns, and they will change depending on who is the narrative focus of the chapter and how they view them. A small CN for those who might not be comfortable with perceived misgendering, but the character themselves uses she/him/they interchangeably depending on the person and situation)
