“I— Yeah,” I cut whoever was speaking off, my voice sounding strange and distant, like I was hearing myself from ten feet away. “I’m fine, I just have to… I think I need… uhm…” I was rising to my feet, then, my thoughts blurry and all over the place. As I shuffled out from under the table, I moved too fast and hit the edge of it with my knees. It was a terrible idea — pain flashed through my hips and spine without the help of my cane, which I vaguely registered leaving on the ground as I pushed away from the conference table, took one more look at the people gathered around it… And broke out into a run. Or: Grace returns to Earth but has trouble adapting to humans again. Humans who stare, and scrutinise, and can read his thoughts at a glance.

The Ares III mission had just left Earth when disaster struck! A loud rattling noise filled the entire spacecraft, making it impossible to determine where it was coming from or what was making it. Not even Danny Fenton, the team's mechanical engineer, could find its source. They theorized it must be coming from somewhere outside the phase-proof panels meant to ensure that Danny wouldn't accidentally fall out of the ship by turning intangible.After determining that finding the source of the noise and fixing it while en route to Mars was too risky, the captain decided the best course of action was to contact the Justice League in their satellite so they could dock and make repairs. Unfortunately, their communication attempts either went unnoticed or whatever was broken was interfering with their ability to establish communications with the satellite.Danny volunteered to fly to the Justice League satellite himself to talk to them while the crew course corrected to either dock in the satellite's hanger or, if the League refused to let them aboard, forfeit their mission and prepare for an emergency landing.

Ever since he was little Stiles had always wanted to see his own string, to follow it until he couldn't anymore...until it led to his one true love. When you turned 18 you could see the red string that connected your soul to the soul of the person that is perfect for you turn purple. Stiles remembered his mother lazily plucking her own string whenever his father was away at work, and every time she touched it with her fingertips it burst a bright purple. It was only for a millisecond—if you blinked, you wouldn't be able to see it—but Stiles would watch, mesmerized, as he was able to see the string that tethered his mother to his father. It was beautiful.
