After the strike things were different. It was Katherine now who made Jack laugh when he was in a dark mood and Davey whose shoulders Jack slung his arm over in the middle of a conversation. Crutchie sometimes wished he could hate them for it but Davey and Katherine were amazing, each in their own unique way, and he just couldn’t. They made Jack happy and Crutchie had rarely seen him smile so honestly and carefree as he did when he was with them. It made his heart ache that he hadn’t been able to give Jack that. It's Christmas and Crutchie struggles with finding his place in the world now that Jack spends most of his time with Katherine and Davey. Luckily he has brothers who look out for him and are always ready to knock some sense into Jack.

Blink sat next to him, staring at Mush like he was his moon.Mush glanced at Blink and smiled, lopsided. “Whaddya lookin’ at?” He said, a little too loudly.Blink didn’t mind. He never did. He just smiled and shrugged, stretching his arms out. “I dunno,” he said, making sure he leaned into the moonlight so Mush could see his lips. He found it in a starry eyed cripple that was armed with a crutch and an ever optimistic outlook on life.Jack always thought that Crutchie was unable to be touched by the real world. Until he was. And he always thought that he would have his sunshine right by his side. Until he didn't. In other words, what happens when something takes away Jack's sunshine.
