“You can stand up, you know. You’re not going to fall in.” Balthazar said. Castiel stood up on the boat carefully and peered over the side. The waves lapped gently against metal, and if Castiel focused enough he could discern the small, silver flashes of fish darting around. Castiel leaned closer to the water, fascinated. A sudden and hard shove against his back had him toppling over the side of the boat and into the water with a shout. Water filled all of Castiel’s senses, making him flounder around in a panic. He breached the surface, gasping for breath. Balthazar’s booming laugh filled his ears. Castiel would have been fuming if he wasn’t so terrified. “Balth!” He yelled desperately. “Help me up!” “Cassie, chill out for five seconds and enjoy the water.” Balthazar responded. “Nothing’s going to eat you.” Castiel tried to calm himself. The waves were very still and the water was a gorgeous blue. He glanced down, wondering if the water was clear enough for him to see his limbs beneath the surface. Two eyes blinked up at him. In which Dean is a very curious mermaid who insists on inspecting Castiel's legs.
