For as boring as the first day is, and the disappointment near the end of it, it's alright. It helps when people are so excited for Izuku, Hitoshi, and Katsuki to be officially starting their journey on the path to becoming heroes. When that same disappointment from the first day persists to the second, Izuku expects the same from the third day—why wouldn't he? Except, no. It goes rather different.

“Look,” Bakugo says. “We don’t get along the best—”“According to you,” Shouto interjects. Bakugo’s eyebrow twitches.“—but you were one of the only shitheads down there that seemed to care enough to want to do something about Deku,” Bakugo pauses, as if expecting Shouto to interrupt. He does not, because Bakugo is right and Shouto doesn’t want to tell him that.“I’m going to go after him myself,” Bakugo says gruffly. “If you want to come along.”---Endeavor doesn't give Class 1-A the tracking device to find Midoriya Izuku after he leaves U.A., but Shouto and Bakugou decide to take matters into their own hands and bring back their friend. Neither of them realize just how fundamentally fucked things are beyond the U.A wall, and they have to navigate the apocalyptic villain-riddled city. Neither of them expect to become fast friends through their struggles, and...maybe more.

Part 5 of the "I Am..." Series“This is it,” Naomasa confirmed. From the folder, he pulled a slip of paper and a familiar card and handed them to Toshinori, “With this, you can join the investigation in an official capacity.”Toshinori ran his thumb across the face of the updated card.He bowed his head, breathing a shaky sigh of relief as a knot of tension unraveled in his chest. He smiled and slipped his tail around Naomasa, squeezing gently, “Thank you.”Naomasa huffed a soft laugh and pat Toshinori’s shoulder.“Welcome back, All Might.”

Before U.A., before All Might, before the world decides what they’re allowed to become. Somewhere between shared notebooks, quiet walks home, and moments that should’ve broken them, they make a decision: They’re going to be heroes. Even if the system wasn’t built for them.Even if Setto’s quirk makes people uneasy.Even if Izuku doesn’t have one at all. But dreams like that don’t come without consequences. And some powers— don’t stay under control forever.
