In the forest, he meets extraordinary creatures and vivid sights, but it's a strange man whom he confronts that opens Atsushi's eyes to a new perspective in life. He is a man with cold, unrelenting eyes and though Atsushi fears it, he tries to befriend the person to little hope - an inescapable urge to thaw that frigid gaze. When he parts ways without a word, Atsushi is forced to return to Kouyou, his mind muddled with confusion. He explains his weird encounter and Kouyou, though gentle in voice, sounds hard in truth as she explains that this dangerous predator he met was best untouched. With midnight hair that fades into snow and stormy eyes, the man is a force of nature that can't be tamed. What Kouyou tells him is supposed to be an unspoken warning that's clear as day: "Don't entangle yourself with him." Atsushi knows he's better off heeding these words, but... He can't stop himself from resisting the urge to learn more.
