“You didn’t have to do all this,” Chat Noir said, feeling more than a bit guilty. Marinette waved away his objection. “I just want you to feel at home, kitty.” How was it that he felt more at home in Marinette’s room that he had only been in a handful of times than he ever had at the mansion? He wanted this. He wanted this all the time as Adrien. Plagg didn’t understand. Adrien wanted to be able to go to school, hang out after class, have sleepovers and movie nights with Nino, video game tournaments with Marinette, and to make his own decisions for himself. He didn’t want to erase Adrien, he wanted to actually get to be Adrien. ... Or the fic where Adrien erases everyone's memory of him so he can get away from his father and live his own life.

Her brain refused to accept the note’s implications. She tore open the box, praying that it would hold any miraculous except the ring of destruction.The ring sat cradled in velvet.Whatever thread was left of her composure crumpled. She fell to her knees as wracking sobs overtook her.She clutched the ring in her fist - now the only token she had left of her partner. She didn’t even know his name.OR, Master Fu's home and hideout has been compromised, and he suspects it's only a matter of time before Hawkmoth closes in on him and the miraculous box. Feeling desperate, he moves up his time table in evaluating Marinette to take on his role as Guardian. This requires her to go through the "Guardian's Trial" which involves her choosing all her own heroes, including a new Chat Noir. (Chat Noir is fine).

I always put her first.”“Yeah,” Chat agrees, able to relate too well. He always put Ladybug first too, and he’s not sure it has ever been the same for her. “I’m sorry you’ve been so alone through this."“I haven’t been totally alone,” Nino disagrees, holding up his phone. “My best friend has been keeping me company virtually most of the day.”“Yeah? It helped?”“I don’t know if any of the stuff he sent helped, but like, given what I know he’s up to, he totally had to move heaven and earth to talk to me so much, and that really helped. He blocks out the presence of all of his friends watching, and instead focuses on Nino - like Nino is a stage partner in a photoshoot.Except kissing Nino is nothing like a photoshoot....Adrien kisses Nino in a game of Spin the Bottle, and then neither can stop thinking about it. Alya really likes how flustered her boyfriend is by all this. Marinette though, can't handle it and keeps running away.
