The pair manage to fix some things, and then absolutely ruin others.

“Martin!” he called out just as Martin was about to disappear behind a door at the end of the hall. Martin whipped his head around, staring at Jon in shock and dropping the empty mug he was holding, the ceramic shattering around his feet. Longing filled his eyes followed by forceful dismay. “Jon I-” he began, but he cut himself off, tears silently spilling out of his eyes. He turned and entered the room beside him and shut the door behind him forcefully.
