It was originally published in the fanzine "Tal-Shaya #5.", edited by Cheree Cargill. For those who don't know what a "Mary Sue" refers to, in the early days of fanfic and Star Trek fanzines, a type of story began to be written where there was an incredibly beautiful and talented woman who came aboard the ship and instantly the main characters fell madly in love with her. Inevitably, there was some disaster which none of them could cope with, but Mary Sue would come up with a remarkable solution which would save them all. However, in most case, Mary Sue would die in the end. This type of story was immediately parodied as it was too stupid to be taken seriously. Ever since then, these types of plotlines have been dubbed "Mary Sue stories." Here is a great one. Enjoy! This story is posted here by express permission of the author.
