Critical Role (Web Series)
In love and war
by SarcasticMulticlasser
A knight, a dragon, a princess. The story is usually clear from here; the knight saves the princess, kills the dragon, takes the crown to the kingdom, and they live happily ever after. But... what if we ask some questions? What if the knight’s shiny armour would be filthy with blood and trauma? If on its edges lines would run in crimson and lilac, painting a blood-chilling premonition to the simple man? If she went through so much trauma, that she would rather take her otherworldly power and throw it through the atmosphere? What if the princess isn’t an actual noble by blood? If she’s not as powerless as we thought? What if the ‘beast of fire and smoke’ isn’t as cruel as everyone else believed? If it doesn’t want to hurt anyone, but people just keep attacking? What if the princess and the dragon are actually the same character? And what if both of them are actual human beings with hopes and fears, highs and lows? They can be both just a bit tired of the world around them, but somehow still wanting to find the good in it. Let’s give them pasts - a broken and stolen kingdom, a betrayal of a decade’s worth of trust - and we’re good to go! Now that is another story, isn't it?

The moon was out and so
by kokichihomo
After the trial was over, everyone found their way to their rooms, Maki, Shuichi and Kaito parted ways after some talk, and Kaito was left behind. That is when Kokichi approached. “Just getting some fresh air, huh?”Kokichi came from behind, saying those words playfully.Kaito was heavy breathing, staring at the hand covered in blood that he just coughed out.“Let me guess, still lying’ to yourself?”Kaito wiped the bloody hand on his coat and responded.“Do you always act this way?”“Hm? What way?”
