He sees movement on the other side of the gate, and he squints, trying to focus his blurry vision. The person has blonde hair, the strands spiky but fluffy, sprouting out of an angular, sharp face. It looks like Kaachan and Izuku swallows. He hopes it is, he wants it to be. He doesn’t know how long he was gone, how long he’s been running from that base where he was kept with little food and water, without access to sunlight and with only his thoughts to keep him sane, but he knows it was too long. He misses his friends, he misses home. Kaachan may not be either of those things, but something deep inside Izuku recognizes that Kaachan used to be, and that’s enough.
