Moon Knight meets a couple other superheroes. Steven fanboys and tense awkward explanations ensue. Jake was the one who still had a deal with Khonshu but like hell were Marc and Steven not going to reap the benefits of the healing armor. The moon god didn’t give them direct orders very often anymore, as if trying to honor the deal Steven negotiated at least that much, but they could still both summon the suit. And if they tried to take care of local crime themselves then Jake wouldn’t have to use his “shoot first, ask questions never” methods unless they got in over their heads. That was still the only time Jake fronted except to take orders from Khonshu, and he refused to communicate with Steven and Marc, or even let them be aware of what he was doing when he did front. They learned his name from a note he left telling them to stay the fuck out of his way. If they hadn’t woken up with the blade of Harrow’s staff inches from his head in Cairo they wouldn’t even know he existed. Though now rhat they did they had to get used to Jale dropping them surrounded by bodies in various stages of injury or, usually, just plain dead. So for now they tried their best to ignore him, live a normal life with a legal, safe job by day, occasionally play superhero by night, and still get enough sleep that they didn’t pass out on the bus.
