Eddie's fingers curl around his, tight enough that Steve can't tell if it's from nerves or exasperation. “Just make it!” Steve feels the corners of his mouth creep up in spite of their current circumstances, sappy and helpless. Eddie's eyebrows draw together, confused. “Why are you looking at me like that?” “...I just missed how insane you are, is all.”

Sowas kam in der letzten Zeit öfters vor. Adam würde ihn anlächeln, ihm dämliche Kommentare zum Unterricht geben, ihm tröstend seine Hand auf den Arm legen, wenn er einen schlechten Tag hatte oder ihm alle roten Gummibärchen in der Tüte überlassen und Leos Herz drehte durch. Verdammt, letztens hatte er während des Sportunterrichts einfach nur in der Sonne gestanden, mit zusammengekniffenen Augen und Schweiß auf der Stirn, und Leo hatte sich kurzerhand daran erinnern müssen zu atmen. Er weigerte sich jedoch, genauer über diese seltsamen Reaktionen auf seinen besten Freund nachzudenken und erklärte sie mit zufälligen äußeren Einflüssen. Weiche Knie nachdem Adam ihn am Ende der Leiter ins Baumhaus gezerrt hatte? Es war ein anstrengender Tag gewesen und er hatte fünf Meter in die Tiefe geblickt. Im Matheunterricht Adam zu lange dabei zugeschaut, wie er angestrengt auf seiner Unterlippe kaute? Ihm war langweilig und musste seine Augen entspannen, Adam war nur zufällig in seinem Blickfeld gewesen. Oder: 5 mal, dass Leo realisiert, dass er mehr als nur freundschaftliche Gefühle für Adam hegt und einmal, dass er sie ihm gegenüber ausspricht
