He watches her as she rounds the couch, not even sparing a glance in his direction, and plops onto it like a sad sack of potatoes. She reaches for the remote and then draws her knees up to her chest, making herself look even smaller. He notices she doesn't change channels or open Netflix, and it's that, a young girl watching the news channel albeit muted that makes him move towards her. Adjusting his rolled up sleeves, he carefully approaches the couch wary of her reaction, he doesn't want to upset the Detective by upsetting her offspring. And, he might as well admit it to himself, he also just doesn't want to upset Trixie, she's dealing with enough for her age. "The news? That's hardly an uplifting program. Is something the matter, child?"
