Undyne sent her dad postcards all the way through her training for the Guard. Here’s a photo of me creaming some guy, here’s a photo of me with the King, please find attached to this postcard a vial of my opponents’ tears, that kind of thing. Undyne becomes a knight, burns her house down, learns about families, gets a Valentine’s card, goes on a terrible date, and finally finds her place.

A Big Fish Story

by Decker

Undyne didn't start out as Captain of the Royal Guard. She started out as an angry, bratty kid looking to pick a fight. Along the way she dueled a king, made new friends, and almost met her end. This is her (somewhat unbelievable) tale.

There’s a theory about time travel that says you can go forward but you can’t go back. You can only go forward, and the way back collapses behind you like the universe sewing itself shut, mending the hurt of you clawing selfishly through. After moving to the surface, the monsters begin to forget.
