Her hands were still, fabric laced in between tense fingers, before moving slowly again. “I am not one that comforts others. I was raised to be an Arkrome, after all.” The impenetrable fortress where Agott’s family had lived, it served Coco an understanding of what that entailed. “But still,” Agott continued on, “I’d like to know what’s weighing on your conscience. You may not wish to share, for who would open to someone who was rotten to them once? I know I’ve said it before, that I’m sorry for my previous grievances, but Coco—” Agott with one hand still occupied, reached in her sack and brought out a silver flask. As Agott handed it to her, Coco swore she saw the girl’s ears turn red. “Will you let me help you,” Agott murmured. “As you’ve helped me?" The passage of time brings Coco to a past of troubled waters. Agott goes out to find her once more.
