Sesshomaru appeared to take in all the scenery around him, like he thought she spotted remorse in the bushes. “I worded that wrong.” Rin sank onto the log and reached for her son, who happily passed from his patron to his mother. “It’s just…when you think about our group – the Naraku people, I guess – we all had this crazy thing happen to us. And now Inuyasha-sama and Kagome-sama are married and have kids, and Sango-sama and Miroku-sama are married and have kids, and I adopted Eiichi. We all have kids. It just seems like you’d be happy if you moved on like the rest of us and had a family.” She ruffled Eiichi’s hair. “Puppies you could pick up by the scruff of their necks!” -- So Sesshomaru's confession that he was married and he does have two children, a wife and daughters he has never mentioned before and Rin has never met, leads her to question their friendship, her place in his world, and if, after all this time, she even knows who he is.

She began to hold back from him, to lie, to pretend like the truth and her exhaustion weren't painted on her face vividly for the half demon to see. When she goes home to prepare for a test, Inuyasha decides enough is enough.
