Zira wandered in Pride Rock and ended up catching Scar's attention and he became Scar's lover / consort. However Male! Zira got disillusioned pretty fast about Scar's true nature, but he couldn't leave anymore. Scar continuously mistreats Male! Zira using him to someone to vent up his frustrations when his kingdom starts to fall apart. When Simba finally returns, and defeats Scar he and Nala find badly injured and beaten-up Male! Zira who is desperately trying to protect his adopted cubs from new king. Because Male! Zira was Scar's victim just like rest of the pride he gets to stay. Simba and Nala both fall in love with Male! Zira and they visit him when his healing of his injuries and start slowly gain his trust and affection. Despite Male! Zira being wary and distrustful towards Simba at first, because his bad experiences with Scar.Basically, emotional healing while rebuilding Pride Lands together.
