Summary
Petitions for the return of ancestral remains, cultural treasures and 'give us back our sacred relics, you bloody colonisers' were all well and good, but sometimes, it wasn't enough. That was when Addy stepped in.The British Museum called her a 'cultural terrorist'. Various art and antiquity museums cursed the very existence of the 'unknown thief'. No small number of indigenous populations considered her the next best thing to a time machine capable of preventing or mitigating colonisation in the first place.Addy's girlfriend called her 'The Museum Raider', because why should well-off white people have all the adventures? Especially when those 'adventures' were 'which colonising group gets to exploit the stereotyped natives under the guise of Good vs Evil'.It wasn't totally an altruistic cause, though.Sacred items were sacred for a reason, and the longer they were away from their rightful home, the weaker the protection they once provided grew. For all it's flaws, Addy liked the world not over-run by demons and beings from assorted hell-dimensions, and the barriers that held the darkness at bay grew weaker every year. The Museum Raider was the world's only hope.
