Summary
It amazed him how the immense pain from smacking the water could be so beautiful. Jimin had never seen a sky so blue or felt water so clear and smooth, yet the cold felt like a million ice needles scraping against his skin and injecting fuzz into his brain, slowing his mind and shutting down his body piece by piece as the pain slowly transformed into numbness. It calmed him and drained the panic out of his chest that had been gasping for air. None of it seemed to matter. Not when the light cut through the water looking like magic crystals, not when little fish danced around like fairies, not when, for the first time in what felt like forever, Jimin could no longer think and feel. Drugs and alcohol had never truly driven the anxiety and stress and fear away, only this cold water that said it was okay to let go, to give in, to sleep. Jimin is sent to a small town on the shores of Lake Superior, Michigan, after he was arrested for a DUI. Namjoon's family takes him in, and Jimin finds himself again through Namjoon and the beach.
