"i'm admiring," xie lian responds, before his mind can quite catch up to what he's said. the look he receives is well worth it, almost caught off guard and xie lian can't imagine why. does san lang not know how precious and valuable he is? he's always touching xie lian with reverence, like he's something, someone to be worshiped. it's different than those that pay their respects at his temples, even hundreds of years ago when his name was well known and praised day in and out. it's something else, something that quickens his pulse and weakens his knees.
