Summary

Aziraphale (posing as Crowley) returns from hell much later than anticipated, Crowley talks to God, and a very old book prompts a confession that should have been made years (millennia) ago.---“I think I prayed,” Crowley blurted suddenly, just as the last of the gashes on his hand were healed. Aziraphale’s head snapped up to meet Crowley’s eyes and he pulled away to better see the expression on Crowley’s face.“To whom?” the angel asked softly, thinking perhaps Crowley didn’t mean what Aziraphale thought he did. “To—”“Yes,” Crowley interrupted, anticipating Aziraphale’s question. “I didn’t know what else to do.”
