Summary
"Lilacs are my favourite," Bonnie spoke softly. That would explain the rows upon rows of lilac bushes growing from the dry ground, past the dying grass. However, despite the fact that it hadn't rained in a few weeks, the lilac bushes remained standing tall.Bonnie approached a single bush, the one closest to them, and touched the flowers gently.John supposed that lilacs were pretty. A soft purple, vibrant against the dark forest green of the bushes they hung off of; leaving a strong, heady, sweet smell trailing through the air that only got stronger when John approached. When Bonnie reached out for one, work-hardened fingers clasping around the stem, she snapped it expertly off the bush and held it up.The purple highlighted the blonde of her hair, the green in her blue eyes, the flush of her cheeks, heated from the sun. She brought it to her nose and took a deep breath, eyes closed and relaxed, and when she exhaled, all the tension from her body seemed to fade away.John did suppose lilacs were pretty.-- -- -- -- --In which John learns Bonnie has a soft spot for flowers.
