It did put a strain on his friendship with Midoriya for a few years, especially when the two of them were doing their best to just rebuild it.
Denki really hopes something the world does won’t affect his relationship with Katsuki for the worse. There might be more than one reason for that, but that is entirely besides the point.
After a team-up during a minor villain attack, the world decides to ship Ground Zero and Chargebolt. Kaminari's fear with the new focus on them as a couple and not just friends and roommates, is that it will put a strain on his friendship with Bakugou and make the chances of them ever becoming a couple, less than they already were. Yet, Kaminari still decides to push forward and try to show Bakugou he likes him. Bakugou may just be too dense to notice.
