overwinter

Hijikata shows up on the Yorozuya doorstep with an armful of groceries and blustery excuses about "extra food going to waste," like he doesn't budget the Shinsengumi's food expenses down to the last grain of rice, and Gin doesn't go hungry to keep his kids fed when jobs are scarce. They're lovers on opposite sides of the law, and it sounds romantic until Gin's worrying about keeping his kids fed and the lights on by any means possible, and his partner is duty-bound to stand in his way.
