THE ONE THAT GOT AWAY

Fall Out Boy sings into Jeno’s ears that the seasons change, but people don’t. Jeno watches the plane tear into the sky, knowing that Donghyuck was sitting somewhere (probably economic, maybe a window seat) in that metal craft, his whole life packed away into a single yellow suitcase and a duffel bag. The plane disappears into the clouds, taking Donghyuck with it, and Jeno skips the song mid-chorus, muttering, “What a load of bullshit.”Donghyuck changed just like the seasons, except Jeno doesn’t know when Donghyuck shook off the dying autumn leaves and winter snow, shouldered through the spring rain, and flew away to be summer.
