Summary
Alm’s always been selfless, sometimes to a fault, and perhaps it’s a reason why Tobin admires him so much. He admires Alm’s strength as well, the ease he commands with, the confidence he has with each swing of his sword. He’s asked himself if he wants to be Alm or if he simply wants him. Despite how many times he’s mulled this over, Tobin’s never found any answers—or perhaps he has, given how his heart’s skipped another beat. “If I’m overstepping, you can tell me that too. I promise I won’t be offended.” He gives a soft laugh. “But if there’s anything I can do, Tobin, just let me know.” Tobin figures he has two options present: he can try and write this off and continue to toil over his feelings, or pull Alm aside and spill his heart out. Neither of them sound too appealing, but with the latter, he’ll at least get this over with.-On the night after they capture Desaix's fortress, Tobin gives himself a moment to think about matters of the heart.
