Eddie, as tired as he was and with eyes half closed, sleepily walked towards Buck, and pulled him in closer and pressed a kiss to his cheek, nearly meeting the corner of his mouth. “I love you,” he whispered before padding off down the hall to his bedroom. And Buck…Well, if Eddie had been any less worn out and had turned around, realizing what he had just said and done, he would’ve found Buck glued to the spot, eyes wide, cheeks flushed, and mouth agape as his eyes followed Eddie the whole way down the hall, questioning if that had all actually happened or if it was just another dream. OrAfter a long shift, Eddie tiredly tells Buck he loves him, not realizing what he said until he wakes up later, leaving Buck a panicked and flustered mess.
