Summary
This is the second part of our story "Twelve Years After" (posted on AO3). Two Authors, One Story! Our new story begins right where "Twelve Years After" ended:The attempt to overthrow Anne of Austria and her Prime Minister (Aramis) at Rouen fails because of the clever intervention of the Dauphin (Louis XIV), his brother (Philippe) and the Musketeers, including their Captain (d' Artagnan), Raoul de Bragelonne (Athos's son), Fabien Marchal, and others. At Rouen also, Athos and his wife Alessandra (aka Anne de Winter or Milady de Winter) escape from prison and certain death with the help of d' Artagnan, Porthos, and Aramis. At the same time in Paris, the same conspirators threatening the regency and the four Musketeers are behind the imprisonment of Lucien Grimaud. His execution at the Place de Greve leads to a riot. His allies (his men, his daughter Layla Grimaud, the Musketeer JeanPhilippe de Rohan son of Rochefort, his wife, his mother, Flea and the people from the Court of Miracles) use the riot to help him escape to his wife's ancestral estate at Royaumont. Who is the real mastermind behind this conspiracy and what is he after?
