Summary
When was the last time anyone expected anything of him? His friends, his companions, they all assure him that their opinion of him hasn’t changed since the truth came out, but he knows he would be naive to believe that. He was a paragon, he was perfect, he was what everyone needed him to be. He had admiration, he was loved, he was adored. He was praised for being a fake, a liar, a conman. The lump in his throat grows as he stares at his reflection in the bathroom mirror. That was the real problem, at the end of the day. Hugh hadn’t exactly ‘fallen from grace’, he’d just been outed as a phony. As the cheating, disingenuine crook he truly was inside. His job was to find the truth, so he shouldn’t be so stung at his own being revealed.
State vs Woods had an affect on Hugh. One he's not quite come to terms with yet
