Summary

Okay, so, this fic comes three days late because I had several good days where I was losing it for many good reasons and I couldn't make myself post it. But today, today is the day and I said to my brain "no more". This will probably be my last Whumptober fic since nothing else sparked the muse to get written/finished. I didn't get to complete the whole circle like last year, but I accomplished a lot, I think, so I'm proud of the results. It was a good month for writing overall. Anyway, this story was one of those I wrote before October rolled in, and it's tied to the Leo Gates case (season 1 episode 11). This episode was the second one me and Thistle watched together (I watched it a few months before that), but it took this live watch for me to start thinking about how Frank felt during the case all those years ago. So we started brainstorming and came up with this story. Our penchant to yeet boys in the rain paid off because in this case Frank literally collapses, and it's raining, poor boy. Anyway, there's a lot of feelings that Frank has about that case, a cute scene with Mary, because I love them too much, and a less than a cooperative partner. Cheers. I hope that I can write more of these glimpses of Frank's past life as a cop because getting inside his head and some 20-30 years prior to the show's time is challenging and interesting. Thank you N1ghtshade for everything.
