of moonlight wishes and happier tomorrows

Their birthday celebrations together had never been much and yet at the same time were the best he’d ever experienced -- Tomo was able to surprise him every single time, namely because he'd never seen his birthday as something important to remember (in that sense, nothing had ever changed). In his eyes it was just another day, and he didn’t want to demand privileges or become an inconvenience to others, making them feel obligated to give him attention for it. Back when he’d been a child, birthdays in his household were never anything special. He’d never even truly known what a celebration entailed before he met Tomo.
