Carlos jerks awake to a violent trembling in the bed. It takes a moment for his tired brain to register where it’s coming from, but when it does, he shoots upright, staring in horror down at TK.He’s no longer peaceful; instead, his face is scrunched with discomfort and relentless shivers wrack his tense body. His hair is plastered to his clammy forehead, and when Carlos reaches out to touch him, TK’s skin is burning hot.“TK!” He shakes him roughly, panic mounting. “TK, wake up!”Nonsensical, fevered ramblings fill the bedroom and TK’s eyes are twitching behind closed eyelids, but he doesn’t wake, and it’s clear that he’s not going to. Carlos twists to grab his phone off the nightstand, but it’s not there, and he realises with horror that he left it on the side in the kitchen. He doesn’t know where TK’s is and there’s no time to search for it, so Carlos launches himself from the bed and sprints to the door.
