Summary
When they pulled apart, neither of the lovers could give up their smiles.
George was the first to speak, his smile as strong as the beating of his heart. "Guess what?" he breathed out quietly, as if he was sharing a fantastic secret.
Dream's cheeks were a rosy pink (the sort of color they only became around the prince), and his smile was as bright as the stars up above. He rested his forehead gently against George’s. "What?" he whispered, happiness audible in his voice.
George wrapped his arms around the taller boy's neck. "We're having a ball."
Or, George is a prince and his lover, Dream, is a shoemaker. Relationships like theirs are forbidden in their kingdom, so they must be careful, especially because George is royalty. A ball is held at the castle, and although it may not seem to cause anything terrible, it is the reason for (mostly) everything unfortunate that happens afterwards.
