Lily brushed Neville’s forehead, her finger tracing a lightning bolt scar that stood out on his pale skin. “You want us to take him in,” she said softly. “Raise him along with Harry.”Dumbledore nodded. James paced in agitation, running his hands through his hair. “So You-Know-Who is dead?” he said, unable to comprehend that fact.“Lord Voldemort is gone,” the headmaster confirmed. “You and Lily are free to come out of hiding – and yes, I am asking you to take Neville in and raise him as your own.”“Of course we will,” Lily said immediately.  OR: Voldemort targets the Longbottoms instead, and Neville is given to the Potters to raise. How will different will things be with Neville as the Boy Who Lived, as well as some actually responsible adults? (JKR is not supported in this household.
