Summary
“I feel like we’ve been out here forever,” Eddie grumbles. “Why won’t anyone tell us if he’s okay?”
“He’ll be fine, come on,” Hen says, although her red-rimmed eyes betray her own worry. She places her hand on Eddie’s knee, giving it what he knows is meant to be a reassuring squeeze, although it doesn’t do much to calm Eddie’s shaking. There’s also a look in her eyes that Eddie knows well, the one she gives him and Buck a lot these days.
He knows it’s her way of calling them out for being in love. Or at least calling Eddie out. Them implies it’s a two-way street, and Eddie has yet to be brave enough to seek out that particular piece of information.
In which Buck gets himself into trouble and Eddie has to sit with all the things he's left unsaid. At least Maddie's good company.
