Xingqiu has read a lot of books, of all genres. His favourite type being martial arts novels, of course. But there was another genre that he had a keen interest in, though he was embarrassed to admit it. Deep down, Xingqiu was a hopeless romantic, with emphasis on the hopeless. He had read all kinds of romance novels and, in his own mind, he considered himself a bit of an expert on the matter. A love guru, one might say (and one would be wrong). The truth is, he had absolutely no experience, except maybe the passing crush, though he was never even sure if it was a crush. It was nothing like he had read in the stories. At the very least, Xingqiu thought he would recognise love when he felt it and live happily ever after with no drama and no misunderstandings. Because even though it makes a good story, it would complicate things. Unfortunately, it turns out Xingqiu is incredibly dense.
