This is Fanfic for a Trilogy that doesn't Exist Yet

[ Yes, the title is true. But I want to write and, well, nothing is stopping me from doing this. So, I've taken the book's protagonist and put her and everyone else in an alternate universe where they're all teenagers in school. ]You know how nothing is ever really easy as a teenager? Yeah? Great. Crank that up to eleven for our traumatised lesbian protagonist, Cassidy. Let's just say things don't go very well for her after transferring to her younger brothers' state school from a military academy. In addition to volatile emotions, mental health issues, a rather hard life at home with divorced parents, and being generally different in a lot of ways from both potential friends and enemies, her uncontrollable powers certainly don't make the change any easier. But, luckily, she's only there for a year. Then, it's back to the armed forces for the military brat where she'll happily serve as a Marine officer. And, c'mon, how much could really happen in a single school year?
