Summary
“Oh, come on, Toms,” he croons, and the nickname burns bitterly in his mind. Brothers, he had thought they were once. Now all he sees is a loathsome betrayer. A vile creature of the night who lured him into a trap with saccharine words and rancid lies. “Please, drop the stake. You know I wouldn’t hurt you.”
There’s the constant aching thought that at one point he would’ve known that.

The truth is, he doesn’t know.
“Fuck you.” Tommy spits the curse with his nose scrunched up in pure disgust. Wilbur grins, and instead of the once bright warmth it had brought him before, it brings nothing but a throbbing twist in his gut that floods him with dizzying nausea. “You’re nothing but a god-damn monster. Wil–I thought I–I thought I could fucking trust you, you bastard–!”
