when the moment stopped

“I need to find out what happened to me, and you need a place to live. So, I’ll let you stay here and you can help me get some answers. Do we have a deal?”Neil knew objectively this was a bad idea. He still wasn’t entirely convinced he wasn’t making this whole thing up in his head. After all if anyone was going to haunt him from the afterlife, he figured it would’ve been his mother first, for all the stupid mistakes he’d made since her death. He certainly didn’t think it would’ve been some five-foot blonde Exy player he’d met all of once. But Neil had been making one bad decision after the other ever since he’d turned down Palmetto that day and run. Maybe this was his time to make some things right. He could run. But he had nowhere left to go. “Okay. Deal.”Or, Neil helps a ghost and finds something altogether different along the way. Something he hadn't even known he'd been missing. Something a lot like home.
