Summary
At age nine, with her Sight deteriorating, Un'hee decides she will be adopted into Eli Vanto's family or no family at all. The Syndicure, upon discovering that this sentiment is held by several other Navigators in the fleet, forces the EDF to take drastic action in order to prevent further disruptions. Unable to return home and no longer in service to the Defense Fleet, Eli is forced to accompany Un'hee to the Seeker's Shadehouse, where she will be undergoing treatment to effectively assimilate in the future. There, Eli and Un'hee encounter Cohbo'rik'ardok, and Eli begins to put the pieces together.(A story about the motivations that drive life paths and their many, many turns.)
