Everyone is given a book at birth. This book is filled with things your soulmate says throughout their day. When you finally meet your soulmate the words stop being added and the last thing in your book is the first thing they said to you. Both Light and L are a little weirded out by the sizable age gap between them. They’re soulmates and have grown up wanting to know more and more about their apparent match. Light learns English while L learns Japanese all just to be able to read about what they’re soulmate says. When L receives a case in Tokyo, both are left to wonder if this is how they’ll meet one another.
