Summary
"Steve?" Eddie had a concerned look on his face."I thought...I just, I thought you had..." He couldn't find the words to say it. Steve leaned his forehead against Eddie's shoulder and closed his eyes, breathing in deeply. He let his fingers slip under the hem of the shirt, touching his sides as gently as he would if handling a delicate antique. As he gingerly traced the edges of scars and healing wounds there, Eddie seemed to understand, arms braced around his back and a hand gently combing through the back of his hair."Yeah, I mean I almost did, shit. Painted a big old patch of ground with my guts. But you guys saved me Steve. Its ok." Eddie's voice lowered as he spoke in Steve's ear.

Eddie is alive and exonerated and Steve hosts game-nights at his home for safety. After a dnd session, Steve and Eddie hang out and Steve gets nosy about what 'hanky code' is.
And they smooch.
