Summary
After a brutal hunt leaves the team injured and exhausted, an imperial transport takes them by surprise. Out of curatives, they agree to make a run for the Regalia. Gladio knows they’ll need more time to make it to safety so he secretly stays behind to defend Noct, Ignis and Prompto as they escape.

A split lip filled his mouth with blood. He spat without taking his eyes off his foes. Noct. Prompto. Ignis. He would protect them with his life. Gladio wouldn’t let even one of these bastards touch them. If he had to spill every last drop of his blood, they would be safe tonight.
“We will find the Prince. We know he is near,” the tall soldier rasped in its strange deathly monotone. “Things will be easier for you if you tell us where to go.”
“I’ll tell you exactly where to go,” Gladio laughed. He couldn’t help himself. They walked right into that one. “Go fuck yourselves.”
