Summary

ever since keith was younger, he’d seen the moon being associated with love. his dad used to tell him stories about a man in the moon that was friends with every single kid on the planet, and how the moon man would always make lonely children feel better and be their friend. at the foster care, he heard and read so many stories about someone taking the moon and giving it to the one they love. he’d heard mothers in movies tell their children that she loved them to the moon and back. he’d heard songs of people assuring other people that no matter how far they’ll be, they’ll be under the same moon. he’d heard people tell their loved ones to look at the moon if they feel lonely, because they’d be looking at it too. the moon was imperfect and flawed and changed constantly, just like love, but at the end of the day, it was always there. even when you couldn’t see it sometimes, you knew that it was always there.so maybe keith had subconsciously started to associate a giant rock floating in space with love. and it was the best decision he’d made.
