Summary
Bilbo discovers that his young nephew was orphaned while he was away, so he and Thorin bring him home to Erebor to live with them. Also-- why Frodo gets to keep his name in the (non-canon) universe that we've ended up in :)-OR- Thoughts on family and the stories behind our names/nicknames-- family trees can be confusing, but titles only matter so much. Family is family. -OR-Giving Thorin and Bilbo a chance to do everything they didn't get to do in the book universe... this whole thing has gone way far off canon already, so might as well go all the way in and see how they do as Frodo's adoptive parents. And Fill and Kili get to remain alive, so yay... the adventure continues :)
