“Oh, Peter, your back,” Rumi brought a hand up to their face, hiding their expression behind splayed fingers as they stared at the marred skin visible between the tears in Peter’s shirt.
Peter startled, quickly turning to face Rumi with a wide-eyed expression. But the damage had already been done.
“Oh…” Peter hesitated, a small frown tugging on the corners of his lips, “it’s not as bad as it looks, don’t worry.” He forced a small laugh, the noise sounding strained or a little crackled from his vocal cords.
