Summary

"You know," he starts, refusing to meet Mike's searing stare as his fingers curl into the warm quilt, "When I first saw you I- I thought...I thought you were an angel."

---

In 1983, William Byers goes missing. His body is never found and what happened to him is pronounced a mystery. The sleepy town of Hawkins moves on along with his deadbeat father, no friends or family to miss him.

A week later, he wakes up. Decades later, he wakes up.

It is the future, but for him it has only been days. A group of strangers- specifically a girl with a dark smear of blood across her nose- has brought him back, or rather, forward. And they need his help. With what finally feels like family, finding a mother in the form of Joyce Hopper, and a sister within the peculiar girl Eleven, Will can't help but be glad he wasn't found. Even when the upside down and the creatures in it promise danger at every turn.

He's especially glad when Mike, a beautiful boy with dark eyes, is always there to catch him when he falls.

(alternatively: *slaps this fic* this bad boy can fit so much fluff and hurt/comfort in it)
