The King’s Golden Flowers

A year after the monsters breathed in their first taste of fresh air, Asgore is still suffocating on his own. Asgore thought that having flowers bloom in his lungs was a fitting end for him. They were always with him during difficult times.“If this is your idea of a joke, Asgore–”Asgore opened his hand, revealing a small golden petal with flecks of blood. Gerson stared at the petal with horror, his mouth trying to come up with words to say but his mind remained blank.“The Blooming Flowers Sickness?” He asked almost breathlessly. He would have preferred it if Asgore confessed to munching on some poisonous grass or flowers to commit suicide. At least then, Gerson can find a way to save his friend.
